Volvo Ocean Race teams arrived at Kochi

For the first time in its history, The Volvo Ocean Race,most prestigious and spectacular round the world marathon ocean yacht racing competition, has come to India. Kochi became the Volvo Ocean race stopover when the boats arrived on December 3, 2008.

Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi, inaugurated the Volvo Ocean Race Kochi stopover celebrations at Willingdon island.
In Second leg of the marathon Ericsson 4 is in the first position followed by Telefonica Blue, Puma, Ericsson, Green Dragon, Delta Lloyd, Telefonica Black and Team Russia.
The race started from Alicante in Spain, and the finishing line is at St.Petersburg Russia.
