Kerala's second botanical garden inaugurated

Kerala's second botanical garden, the Malabar Botanical Garden, was inaugurated in Feb second week. The 38-acre garden with rare species of plants will specialise in research on aquatic plants.The Tropical Botanical Garden and Research Institute (TBGRI) in Thiruvananthapuram is the other botanical garden in the state.
The botanical garden is located in the Kolathara village of Kozhikode, about 15 km from Calicut city.
The larget collection of water lillies is the speciality of the garden.
