Rajan P Dev left us leaving behind a huge gap in the Malayalam film industry.
But the intensity of his performance and his inimitable style which catapulted him to top grade will always be there.
His reel life villain roles were so realistic that people actually began to hate him and in real life he was just the opposite.
He was a great actor who gave comedy touch to powerful villain roles.

Dev was a familiar villain in Tamil cinema. His first movie was Pavithran-directed '
Suriyan'.Dev has acted in over 100 Tamil films, and his last Tamil film was '
Malayan'.Rajan P Dev acted in about 180 films including in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada besides Malayalam.
He also directed two Malayalam films
'Achammakkuttiyude Achayan' and '
Achante Kochu Molku.'His last Malayalam movies is '
Ee Pattanathil Bhootham'.
Theater was always
Rajan p Dev's first love. His character '
Kochu Vava' in the play '
Kaatukuthira' struck a chord with the audience and won him the best theater actor award in 1984 and 1986. But when the drama was made into a movie ,though it was Dev who immortalized '
Kochu Vava', he did not get a chance to play the role. He was hurt at being denied the role and it was an unpardonable mistake from the makers of the movie.
We Malayali's will always remember Rajan P Dev as not a villain but as a powerfull actor who left us in the middle of his career.
