Focused on implementing complete Information and Communication Technology (ICT) enabled education in Kerala, the government of Kerala to distribute around 60,000 "Resource DVDs" to High School teachers in the state. The Resource DVDs are developed by the IT@School Project of the government. The DVD comprises of various tools, software and features which are in line with the new ICT text book of eighth standard, completely based on ICT enabled education.
According to media reports the teachers would have complete freedom to copy, edit and re-distribute the contents in the Resource DVD, prepared entirely on free software.The Resource DVD with a total capacity of 8 GB would include contents equivalent to that of 12 CDs. With an inbuilt auto-run facility.
