To provide services to the State Government, IT Mission and various Information Technology agencies against cyber attack , Kerala Government has constituted CERT-Kerala. CERT-Kerala is the 'Indian Computer Emergency Response Team-Kerala'.
Recently there were reports that Chinese hackers intruded into highly guarded Indian servers. And also cyber terrorism is the new threat to the world.
It is necessary to have highly sophisticated mechanisms to tackle cyber attacks and cyber terrorism.
CERT-Kerala was assigned with the task of enhancing cyber protection, enabling security compliance and assurance in Government and critical sectors and facilitating early warning and response.
The Department of Information Technology has established the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-India).CERT-Kerala will operate on line with CERT-India.CERT-India had been designated as a Nodal agency for coordinating all matters related to cyber security and emergency response.
