Beypore Beach was once an important trade and maritime centre, lying just 10 km south of Kozhikode,Kerala.This is one of the main tourist area near Calicut city. The Beypore beach is situated at the mouth of the River Chaliyar a major river of north Kerala. It was one of the major ports and fishing harbors of olden times.Ancient Beypore port enjoyed immense importance in the trade and maritime History of Kerala.
The Boat-building yard of Beypore was world famous for its ship-building industry.This boatyard is famous for making a distinctive ship vessel known as 'Uru'.The Mappila Khalasis the traditional boat builders at Beypore were famous as the manufacturer of Uru the boats used mainly by Arabs for trading overseas.

The Beypore Beach has a bridge built nearly 2 kms into the sea. It is actually made up of huge stones piled together for nearly 2 kms making a pathway into the sea.

How to reach Beypore?
By road: Beypore is well connected by road and is just 11 km from Calicut.
By air: Calicut / Kozhikode International airport is at Karipur and is 23 km away from Calicut city.
By rail: Calicut is a major railway station and is well connected to rest of India
