The Ujala- Asianet film awards 2008 for best film and related categories for the year 2008 is announced.As expected 'Twenty20' chosen best film of the year 2008.
'Twenty:20' is produced by actor Dileep under the banner of Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) and was a huge hit because of its unique all star appearence and strong story and direction.
Other winners of the awards in different categories as given below.
Padmabhushan K J Yesudas was given the lifetime achievement award for his contributions to Malayalam cinema.
Akku Akbar bagged best director-'Veruthe Oru Bharya'.

Mohanlal best actor for his performance in 'Madambi'.
Gopika bagged the female roles for her performances in 'Veruthe Oru Bharya'.
Jayaram was chosen the best popular actor ( Veruthe Oru Bharya).
Innocent selected as the best actor in a character role .Movie 'Innathe Chinthavishayam'.
M G Sreekumar bagged best male playback singer.
Swetha Mohan best female singer.
Best villain : Siddique.
Bes comedian :Salim Kumar.
Best female character role :Samvrutha Sunil
Best sceenplay :K Girish Kumar
Best lyricyst: Girish Puthanchery
Best Music director:Vidyasagar
Best cild artist:Baby Nivedita
Best Cinematographer:M J Radhakrishnan
Best editor:Ranjan Abraham
Best star pair: Jayasurya and Roma
Best debut actors:Vineeth Sreenivasan and Meera Nandan
Special jury awards:Jagathi Sreekumar and Major Ravi.

    Ujala Film award for the Best Film is given to 20-Twenty is not worthy. There are several other pictures better than this one. The criteria considered for the award seems to be because it was produced for AMMA. This is evident that Veruthe Oru Bharya Director
    is the best Director and not the film he had directed and the best film's Director has not done his job well but his film became the best. How come? IT IS FARCE!
